The tongue-twisting title of this post is what I thought would be a super funny caption to this picture:
OK, so I’m easily amused. What the heck are they doing on the front lawn of the Brampton Inn?
Playing Bocce Ball, of course! The couple on the right are Stephanie and Dennis, two of our favorite, long time repeat guests. They brought Stephanie’s folks along for this visit, and they took advantage of the one nice day we had this week and got outside for some serious competition. Nice form, Stephanie. Look at this action:
If you’re not familiar with it, Bocce is a simple game involving heavy balls that are tossed toward a certain point, and the person getting closest to that point wins. We have croquet and badminton sets for guests to use, but after watching these guys, I think I see a Bocce set in our future. We love to see guests using the games; It’s a great way to enjoy the grounds around the inn, and probably something you wouldn’t take the time to do at home. Just make sure you are not disturbing Slipper, our beloved inn cat.
When Stephanie’s dad, Ernie, was getting ready to go, Slipper just had to say his goodbyes.
We may refer to him as our cat concierge, but believe me, this is as close as he will ever get to helping you with your bags! Check out one of our favorite pictures of Slipper that had to find its way onto our site: King of the Porch!
So the next time you are visiting us here in the lovely town of Chestertown, feel free to bring your favorite lawn games and get outside and have some fun!
