Brampton Inn interior living room

About the Inn

Our Maryland Bed and Breakfast is a proud member of Select Registry. We aim to serve straightforward food with an emphasis on simple artistry. Brampton sits on 35 acres in a pastoral setting surrounded by lush landscape and forests on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The inn is less than two miles from the Arts and Entertainment center of Chestertown, the Mid-Atlantic’s most charming historic town.

About the Innkeepers

Former Innkeeper Danielle Hanscom Thode and her late husband Michael Hanscom turned a private manor house into the award-winning, 13 room, Brampton Inn in 1987.

Innkeepers David and Hilari Rinehart took over the Inn on August 24 2020 and are skillfully supported in this endeavor by pastry and breakfast chef Carole Baxter, and an incredibly capable staff dedicated to continuing the Brampton tradition of:

  • Peace and Tanquility
  • Unconditional Hospitality
  • Fine Food
  • Comfortable Accommodations

A Tradition of Excellence

“First, we wish to thank Danielle and Michael. They built a beautiful retreat for their guests where peace and tranquility, gracious hospitality, fine food, and comfortable accommodations are at the forefront of everything that is done here. That is what we fell in love with and our expectations were exceeded with every visit. We decided that if we could do the same in our next chapter in life, we could positively impact others the way we were. These are big shoes to fill, but we will do our best to continue with the amazing service to our guests. We are so excited to become the new caretakers of Brampton and continue the traditions that Danielle and Michael began and we look forward to welcoming you for years to come.”
