One of the very best places for lunch in Chestertown is Evergrain Bread Company. This lovely bakery serves up artisanal loaves, wonderful coffee and terrific soups and sandwiches for lunch. Just recently, they’ve begun “Evergrain After Hours” on Fridays from 5-10pm when they serve Neopolitan pizza made to order! It’s so nice to have another casual place to send our guests after they arrive on a Friday evening. You can even bring your own bottle of wine and really relax! Another new addition is the outdoor seating shown in this picture from Evergrain’s Facebook page:
Can’t you just see yourself sitting there, enjoying an espresso and a pain au chocolat? If your imagination is up for it, you can even pretend that the river you can see just down the street from these tables isn’t the Chester but the Seine…it’s a lot quicker and cheaper than a weekend trip to Paris!
