About the Venue
When you attend a show at The Mainstay, you get so much more than an evening of live entertainment. Located on Main Street in Rock Hall, Maryland, this fun and funky venue occupies a 100-year-old building full of history. The iconic spot came to life when the owner offered teacher-turned-musician Tom McHugh free use of the crumbling building. McHugh began hosting informal concerts there in 1997, and The Mainstay was born! Today, this nonprofit organization lives up to its name as a highly valued part of The Eastern Shore’s vibrant arts and culture scene.
What to Know Before You Visit
Attending a show at The Mainstay is easy! All you have to do is check the venue’s event calendar, select the show you’d like to see, and purchase your tickets. Tickets purchased online are non-refundable, but this allows you the convenience of paying in advance. Reservations can also be made over the phone or at the door (day-of). Student tickets are free when you make a phone reservation (it’s the perfect place to hang out with your Washington College student)!

How to Get There

The Mainstay is just a 16-minute drive away from Brampton Inn and Chestertown, Maryland. Head west on Highway 20 until you reach the town of Rock Hall. Navigate to North Main Street and find The Mainstay near The Pearl on Main, one of our favorite area restaurants!
