The first canning of the year in Brampton’s kitchen…

Last week we had a surprise deal:  the Future Farmers of America club  at Kent County High School over-ordered strawberries.  (Baker extraordinaire Carole’s daughter is a  member, so we had an “in”).  We used a lot in our breakfast dishes, but couldn’t resist putting up a few quarts of jam.

As this month draws to a close, with warmer spring temperatures still frustratingly out of reach, I thought these photos with lots of bright red berries would remind us of what we have to look forward to…

Biscuits with butter and jam, jam muffins, jam on toast, jam tarts…

Did I mention we LOVE  jam?
