Boat Tours on the Chester River Packet

A cruise on the Chester River Packet is a must to get a feel of the beauty of the Chester River. The relaxing trip up and down the river includes explanations of sites and history. This wonderful boat operates from May through Labor Day and offers a regular schedule on weekends, but is also available for private cruises.

The Packet is a gorgeous 65 foot, ‘20s style, USCG certified, excursion boat. She was built in 1990 by Scarano Boat Builders of Albany, NY and started out as the “Seneca Chief” on Seneca Lake in Upstate New York. Later she was moved to South Carolina, and toured the Charleston Harbor until she found a home on the Chester River in Chestertown on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We are delighted she did! She was completely restored by local craftsmen and only holds up to 60 passengers, which makes for a comfortable cruise.

We highly recommend checking the schedule and making reservations  at 410-635-0321. We also would be happy to do so for our guests! New this year: a $10 per person deposit is required to hold a spot. Boarding is at the Chestertown Town Dock at the end of High Street. Plan on boarding at least 15 min. early.
