Yesterday, Sunday March 20th, was the official first day of spring–FINALLY! And as always, it has come not a minute too soon. The robins, widely accepted as the first sign of spring, have been flitting around the inn for the last week or so But it was just this past Thursday that the true harbinger of spring was audible to anyone listening: the spring peepers are back! The adorable (well, I think they’re cute) member of the tree frog family are awake from their hibernation and the males are singing their little hearts out, trying to attract females. It’s such a pretty sound…
This link will take you to a National Geographic Society page that has a little info on the peepers and even an audio file that you can listen to. Enjoy!
