Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can start thinking about the rest of the holiday season…and of course that means more food!!!
The very popular Holiday High Tea is available once again to the public as well as our inn guests starting December 1st, through the 22nd, every day except Saturday.
If you’re not familiar with “high tea” it is different from the “afternoon tea” served to our guests every day. Served at 4pm here at the Brampton, afternoon tea is just that, a cup of tea (or a glass of sherry, or perhaps lemonade or iced tea in the summer) and a bit of a small snack, a scone, cookie or small sandwich. It is traditionally meant to tide you over until your next meal, especially if dinner is served at the fashionable hour of 8 or 9 pm.
High tea on the other hand, is served later, is quite hearty and meant to be one’s primary evening meal. In our case, we will have 2 seatings: 5pm and 7pm. The menu will be something like this:
Gingered Carrot Soup
Crab Pot Pie
Mini Turkey Sandwiches
Micro Salad
Scones with Lemon Curd
Mini Fruit Trifles
and, of course, a SPOT of TEA!!
Reservations are required, so call now to get your spot (no pun intended!) The cost is $30 per person including tax. It is a nice way to unwind after a day of shopping, or a new and different venue to get together with friends and/or coworkers.
