First Friday…and what Spring is supposed to look like…

It’s not as  if we WANT to keep talking about the weather, but what choice is mother nature really giving us?? A long, rough winter, no spring to speak of, thunder storms, tornadoes and incessant rain!

Fortunately for everyone, there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel:  the forecast for the weekend actually shows SUN, and temperatures in the high 60’s.  Soooooo,  for anyone visiting Chestertown, MD this weekend, the trees and flowers will be extra vibrant and beautiful,  maybe something like this:

Just in time for First Friday fun!  Downtown Chestertown does First Friday all year long. But, this just might be the  first First Friday of the year that won’t require winter outer wear.  Stroll the streets, drop into the galleries and shops that stay open late, and sample wine and goodies everywhere.

And even though cherry blossom season is over in DC, there are still beautiful blooms to ogle here on the Eastern Shore.  Dogwoods are the main event this Saturday May 3rd at the Galena Dogwood Festival.  Only about 20 minutes from the Brampton Inn, this event includes a parade, live music, a beer and wine garden, and local Eastern Shore food!

So please take heart; the rainy days won’t last forever, the sun will shine again, and we’ll be waiting for you when you get here!!
