First, a big thank you to all of our friends and family for your concern and well wishes for our Chestertown Bed and Breakfast. We were so very lucky to have had no damage from the monster storm of Hurricane Sandy. Second, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of those suffering from the aftermath of this mess.
Besides the carpet of fallen leaves that are too wet to rake, there are several small piles of limbs scattered about the property, waiting to be transported to the kindling pile in the barn. Real wood fire season is upon us!
And yet, even though we assumed the hurricane would cut short the leaf-peeping season, there are still many brightly colored leaves on the trees, not to mention on the ground!
But the most important thing of all, and perhaps the most obvious harbinger of good weather, Slipper’s got his porch furniture back!! He has really been missing it these past few days. It was harder than usual to take his photo: he’s also been missing a lap to knead…
For all those guests coming this weekend, the sun is starting to make its way out, and Slipper is waiting for you to enjoy some afternoon tea on the porch at our Bed and Breakfast in Maryland.
Please know we have lint rollers at the ready.
