From the garden to the breakfast table

This lovely colander of fresh blueberries was hand picked on Monday evening, from the 2 bushes that Danielle planted almost 10 years ago here at Brampton Inn. They must like something that’s going on this year, because they have never yielded this much fruit before! On Tuesday morning, we served them with homemade banana yogurt and a touch of homemade granola on top. It was lip smacking good!

While we certainly won’t harvest enough to make jam, they will be all over the breakfast plates for the next little while, and  we’ll get some blueberries from a local farm to make enough jam for the rest of the year.

The raspberries are making a spectacle of themselves as well, and in a week or two the blackberries will be at it. Such a pleasant way to get your vitamins!
