Calendar of Events
August ~ is a busy month at the inn. Plan ahead if you wish to visit. Students at Washington College move in the week of August 23rd. If you are the parent of a returning or a new student give us a call. We offer special rates to our Washington College families, including a complimentary full breakfast to the "kids" if they choose to get up early and join their parents.
September ~ brings perfect kayaking weather; not to hot yet the water is still warm. Our community, Kent County, has the most public launching places of any Chesapeake Bay county. We offer a reasonably priced kayak package or you can bring your own. We'll be happy to guide you to the best spots.
The month of September is also one of the best times to enjoy Maryland crabs. They have been particularly plentiful this year.
October ~ is the month of changing colors. Our gorgeous trees put on a show that is spectacular and can be enjoyed from our front porch with a cup of tea or a glass of wine if you wish. The first weekend, Saturday 2nd, in October brings us the 40th annual Chestertown Historic House Tour. Start planning your visit soon if you wish to visit Chestertown's most historic homes. At no other time of the year does the public have a chance to take a peek at these gracious 18th and 19th century dwellings.
On October 28-31, 2010, the harbor and wharfs of Chestertown will be filled to capacity as ships from across the mid-Atlantic make their way up the Chester River to participate in the schooner Sultana’s tenth annual Downrigging Weekend.
November ~ is a fine month to experience the late fall, wonderful food at our magnificent restaurants in Chestertown and of course the comfort and pampering of the Brampton Inn. It's fireplace season and Michael will getting the wood fires ready for daily enjoyment. Starting at the end of November and up to Christmas in
December ~ we will be offering a special "Holiday" afternoon tea during the week and "High Tea" on Saturday evening. This year we plan on reintroducing the festive custom of elegant teas during the holiday season. Call early for details and to reserve your spot.
New Years Eve we celebrated with a 6:00 p.m. cocktail party for our guests before they head out to an enjoyable feast at one of our great Chestertown restaurants. A Champagne toast and a few nibbles are perfect to start cheering a New Year.
